Positive and Negative

Recently our class did a piece called positive and negative. On a big piece of paper we put down another piece of paper with a color of our choice. On that piece of paper we drew out shapes and stuck them on the flipped on the base paper. In the end it looked like shadows. In this project our goal was to try and confuse the viewer so they would not know if it was a white paper on black paper or a black paper on white paper. To make the art we had to cut out shapes from the black piece of paper then we glued it the oposite way on the white paper. For shapes that weren't attached to the edge of the paper we used a knife to slice it out.
